Businesses and entrepreneurs in Spain, 2008. Women and enterprise

On 12 November 2008, the President of the Rafael del Pino Foundation and the Vice Chancellor of Alcalá University, in his capacity as Chairman of the University’s General Foundation, signed a collaboration agreement to produce the Rafael del Pino Foundation‘s Third Report on entrepreneurial activities under the title of: “Empresas y empresarios en España, 2008. La mujer en la actividad emprendedora”. [Businesses and entrepreneurs in Spain, 2008. Women and enterprise].

The research will be performed by the University Institute of Economic and Social Analysis, which is the University of Alcalá’s applied research establishment. The aim is to provide a descriptive and analytical overview of entrepreneurial and business dynamics in Spain with special emphasis on the role of women in this area.

Using the same methodology as in the previous reports, a survey will be conducted for the third report using a representative sample of entrepreneurs to investigate issues connected with the factors that impinge on the success and failure of business projects, competitive creativity and early activity. The final research will include a descriptive and comparative analysis of the surveys for 2002, 2005 and 2008.
